I'm feeling down so I thought I'd spend lots of money. Anybody able to reccomend anything I want? Digital camera is springing to mind but I know little about them... anybody?
It really depends on what you want to do with the pictures. If you want to have a quick fire camera for fun and put some of the pics on the net, look at the Olympus Camedia or the cheaper Fuji range, 1.5 Megapixels will do fine for that for about 200-250 quid. Also look for packages with added memory cards. If you want to have decent prints taken off them, you should be looking at at least 2.5 Megapixels. More important is a USB interface as serial sucks big time, although I think most of them are. I still recommend am USB SmartMedia reader (about 40 quid) for downloading the pictures as this will save the batteries. Make sure you buy rechargeable batteries (NiMH) as you will go through alkalines very quickly and it's just not worth buying loads (besides them being a disposal problem).
A decent allround camera with the odd extra shouldn't cost you more than 300 quid.
