Some of you may remember the other day me being greatly amused by an article entitled "Tumpy, the Camel, and the Electrical Dose Concept for Ventricular Defibrillation".

Well, I have now read some of it and it made me laugh. A lot. So, from Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology Volume 26 Issue 7 (part 1) I present an extract of the article by L.A. Geddes, Ph.D.

On arrival at A&M about 10 am, Tumpy was standing up in the carrier and not in a good mood. It turned out that because of a low hanging, high voltage power line, we could not approach the Field House operating site by the road to the large front door; we had to take a back road, which brought us to a small back door. We were now faced with coaxing an angry camel through a small door. We again tranquilized Tumpy and got him out of the carrier and Tumpy decided to lay down, I approached him and he bit my hand and kicked my assistant, who landed about 8 feet away. We then anesthetized Tumpy; now how do we get him through the narrow door? Fortunately, in an adjacent field was a farmer with a tractor. The back door was on one side of the operating room and the main entrance door was diametrically opposite. With a small remuneration, we encouraged the farmer to drive his tractor to the front door and we coupled a thick rope to it. The rope was passed through the large front door and through the small rear door and tied to Tumpy. The signal was given and Tumpy was dragged into the operating room. We performed numerous physiological studies, 10 which ended with the ventricular fibrillation experiment.

What, an antisocial, stubborn, and generally obstreperous beast?
Why would you sympathise with that?

Actually, unless it's Chris' typing, I feel quite sorry for the person who's having to edit that passage (or failed to). Euch. Grammar?
