roleplaying and money
May. 7th, 2003 11:57 pmThere's ups and there's downs in my life at the moment. One of the ups is that I am really enjoying the new RPGSoc society game, victoriana (http://www.sorsegods.co.uk/victoriana/). The GMs seem to be working really well and I have been feeling that I always have a lot to do. The only trouble is I want to do more plotting with people between sessions but there isn't that much to do. On the other hand this is a wonderful wonderful change from my usual thing of having lots to do between sessions and not a lot to do in session. Its a great game and I can't help but look forward to playing it more.
I've also been talking Cam stuff a bit. Talking to sally and sorting out some stuff which is fun. Cloud and Martin have gone and got drunk in the pub and I have sorted her some temp crash space too I believe.
The money side of things is one of the downs in my life. I worked out some back of the envelope maths to see what my finances looked like and it wasn't pretty. I calculated that I had about 200 pounds disposable income. Per annum.
Hey, at least there is some disposable income I thought to myself and then five minutes later somebody mentioned gross/net and I realised that my calculations didn't cover tax. It is possible on the plus side that it might *not* come to more than 200 pounds but i doubt it will be much less than that.
On the other hand it isn't quite that bad. I've done a fair bit of work on a website recently that I haven't invoiced for yet so I do have more money than that really. Not much but enough tht I am not really really down about it. Just a little bleugh.
On the plus side I have been doing very well since I hit reduced spending mode earlier in the year. I spent a fortune out tonight which equated to about 8 pounds. That's my expensive night out these days. :)
