Not too long to go now. Tomorrow I get to finally finish work for christmas. Thursday and friday off when I should probably wander into town and do some christmas shopping. Currently I have absolutely no idea what to buy my family. I want to get them nice stuff but I don't see that much of them to know what sort of thing they would want. My dad is a computer person and might like something for his computer but I have no idea what. My mum I never know what to buy and usually ends up getting chocolates or something. My brother? God only knows. My sister? She mentioned a CD called funk diva or something like that. I might get it if I can find it and if my memory has served me well enough.

Going to see Lord of the Rings on Friday as well with krys which will be cool. Longest night of the year as well, marks it as a special occasion... :)

Tomorrow meeting up with sally hopefully. I should be playing in a roleplaying game but work has been stressing me out so much recently that I am really not sure I can be bothered to Roleplay. Last week was quite cool but I was far too zonked to really actually get with the plot at any point. Also Sally ([livejournal.com profile] winterthing) has come down to this part of the country for christmas and it'd be cool to see her before I go home, probably on saturday. I also quite like the thought of going to a pub and having a beverage or two to celebrate the fact I won't be working for nearly a whole fortnight.

Umm... What else is going on in my life? Went to see Rent on Saturday which was great and has made me decide that I ought to go see more shows. I have seen Starlight Express (about 10 years ago), Les Miserables (a couple of years back) and now Rent and I really liked all of them. Its the atmosphere as much as anything else and the being in the West end and all that. Phantom of the Opera is one I have often thought about going to see and might manage at some point. Otherwise I might just go non-specific and turn up in london on a saturday with some friends and see where has last minute cheap tickets available. :)

That is most for me at the moment. Work is still stressing me out and I have a certain amount of dread that tomorrow they are going to say "you do this on thursday and friday" and I'll say, "holiday.." and they will tell me I can't do it. :) It has been booked for about a month and a half though so they can't really complain and I have mentioned it to one of the big boss people who is actually in charge of the whole office this week. He likes me too so I should be alright. :)

Other things? People are silly. A minor rant that I put as a comment on other peoples journals but I will repeat here. People should really think hard about sticking their oars into a situation when they don't actually know anything about it. A comment on a friend's live journal on sunday provoked unnamed people to talk to a completely uninvolved part and ask her what she had done wrong. The unnamed people doing the "accusations" (I don't know if it was that strong but I have no better word) had no idea what the situation was and made assumptions which may well have upset the person they were talking to.

If you know the situation then you can get involved. If you have to start making guesses then maybe you shouldn't. If you really think you should get involve then talk to the person you are worried about before accusing other people.

Anyway, that is me for now. More stuff when I get time.

I'm looking forward to the going out for drinks thing. It is really nice to feel like I know people in Oxford again - all my old school lot seem to have fled to places less pinacled and spire-y.

Now I just need to hunt you and Krys down and arrange details!
