Well, the weekend has been good. Much fun and stuff. Had my last day of work today and now things are quiet. But there is a lot more to say than that...

Friday night was planned to be my celebration night and so it was. I got home and showered and smartened myself up before wandering into town. Got to the pub a bit early bumping into igloo (aka Ian) on the way and finding david already there.

Bought myself a drink (the only one of the evening I had to buy myself) and sat down and chatted. Over the course of the evening we were joined by caroline (two of them in fact), Pilly (aka richard), Lucy, Liam (work friend) and Mark (another work colleague). I think that was everybody who turned up, apologies if I missed anybody.

Much drinking and talking was done and some confusion when they called last orders at 11:30. No complaints though as we all had one for the road. It was a really good night out and I must do it more often.

The night ended with a trip to hussain's and then wandering back to my place with caroline who was crashing over. It was a nice night so the fact I didn't have any spare bedding and was sleeping on the sofa using my dressing gown as a thin cover didn't bother me. The fact that at 8AM caroline woke me up *did* bother me and the fact we left the house at 9 to do shopping scared me intensely. This is 9AM saturday after a night of celebratory drinking and I'm up and out the house. Just no. Never again. :)

So, some shopping and stuff (caroline wanted summer clothes and I ended up with new CD and resisted the urge for anything else) and then back home where there was some DVD watching (Spawn) and some MTV2... Then picked up by David to head for Mike's housewarming.

The housewarming was fun. I think 13 people in the end. Met TR's wife for the first time and she was cool. A nice little pyromaniac. Much fire was had and then much chilling out and some falling asleep. Saw some people I hadn't seen in ages such as Mike, David (Ball, not sheldon), Paul and others. Mike had the coolest fan ever which I really want to have for making dramatic entrances to places. about a foot radius blades and a hell of a wind it produced. My hair apparently did very dramatic things and I reckon a good coat or cloak and stuff would work coolly too. :)

So got home and crashed out again. Later morning than saturday and had Matt moving out. He's parents were here helping but I avoided most of the work and just emerged to bid him farewell and wish him luck. Another DVD was watched and a trip into town was had (caroline's top she bought self distructed and I bought some DVDs).

Time passed and some geeking happened, caroline having been deprived of computer access for nearly 48 hours by this time. SHe got the wireless laptop and I had to be old fashioned and plug into the wall. I love the geekiness of multiple laptops in the living room. :)

Anyway, time passed and simon turned up. More time passed and we went to the pub for the cam game. Some people were already there including Steve, Ginnie, Becky, michael and others. I was playing Martin because I couldn't be bothered with Stream. Martin is so much easier at the moment since I hadn't played stream much recently.

The game was fantastic fun. Most of my action centred around Robbo's new character, another Martin. I won't go into detail but in summary a massive emotional trauma for him which left him trying to tell everybody to piss off and me trying to help him in a way that he would accept because I *knew* he would get into trouble otherwise.

I also did some chats with caroline as cat's graces and I think our characters have more of an understanding. Either that or she is being disturbing by phoning me up and just letting me know what she is doing for no apparent reason. I think she just respects me a bit more now. Well, that is the only explanation I can think of at the moment anyway.

I might have a few things that I need to do after the meeting. On the other hand I might just not bother in case I feel the urge to kill one of the people I want to talk to. :) Must probably talk to the others though. :)

The rest of the game was quite fun as well just chatting to people in general. Steve's character was great and I have managed to forget his name again (if steve or somebody else who could remind me is reading it would be appreciated). I like the bits of games where I just get to sit and chat to people.

Anyway, game finished and after much chatting outside Michael and I headed back to my house and crashed out pretty much straight away. Dunno about michael but I was absolutely shattered. In the morning we headed over for a qucik bit of shopping and then, well equipped I ruslted up some bacon for sarnies and he ran a seeking for Stream, my mage. It was the first seeking I'd had and not quite what I expected. It worked though and has made me think about stuff and change the way the character works partly.

Anyway, michael headed off and I did some cam admin stuff. Need to send off my MC request to caroline. Don't worry though, dear. Nothing particularly out of the ordinary there. :) Looked at XP logs and then juzt generally dossed about for a bit.

The evening was spent in the company of david sheldon who I should mention is a fine gentleman to spend the evening with. Lasagne he made earlier in the day was a tasty start to the evening and then some DVDs. Resident Evil first which I really enjoyed. A fine film that seemed very computer gamey in places but was thoroughly enjoyable. I absolutely adored the Red Queen. She was ace and should have been the hero of the film. :)

After that we watched Bound. A gangster style film which was quite nerve wracking. Basically the story of two women (who do a great bit of lesbian sex in the first 20 minutes of the film) nicking a couple of million quid from the mafia. The plan is a great one and its really fun to see it slowly fall apart and them attempting to keep it on track and stuff. That is a rubbish description of the film but I did enjoy it a lot (aside from the lesbian sex).

After the film there was more chatting, playing with his Tivo, watching kerrang cable channel and other stuff. I also got to see his linux PS2 which was quite fun.

Then home, to bed and onto today. My last day at work. Was actually a quite long day. Spent about 5 hours explaining stuff to poor Andy at work who was probably totally lost by the end of it. Ended up leaving late partly due to talking to people and saying goodbye and partly due to sorting out the burning of some stuff to CD before leaving work.

Tonight has been a chill out night spent with the tele and some coke. Chatting on IRC with people and not a lot else really. Something of a wasted evening. Not sure where it went. Mustn't make a habbit of this.

Just had a scary encounter though. My housemate matt told me he woke up the other night and was sure he heard people outside and trying the back door to see if it was open. So when I heard a noise just now I feared the worse. I'm sitting here in the lounge watching tele quite loud so people must realise I am awake and they wouldn't usually try to break in when they could get IDed easily. Some would yeah but most I would think go for the easier targets.

However, paranoia doesn't bow to this sort of logic. I am getting worried by shadows moving on the walls or reflections of the tele moving in the corner of my eyes. I think I'm going to need to take a book to bed to read to get me to sleep. Or maybe load up my nerf gun and my BB gun for security purposes. :)

Should probably head to bed anyway. Want to do some room tidying at least tomorrow.

You watched Bound? That was the film we watched the first time I went to LGBsoc Women's Video Night :) Cool memories. I loved it, apart from the ick bits with the ick secateurs ick. But the lesbian sex, mmm, yeah, anyway.

It is a lovely film. Wonderfully directed, the camera work is just so pretty, with lots of contrasts. And it is the same guys that did The Matrix.

The commentry mentions some of the lesbianny bits, some of which I hadn't previously noticed. Oh, and the description of the filming of the sex scene is great.

The secateurs are not that bad. I have definately seen worse in films. And the safety video for design tech at school was a lot worse.
