It started four weeks ago. A fork in the road and I chose a path. I followed the path, at times unsure if I was goign the right way but determined not to turn back since at the fork I *knew* what the right way was.

Two weeks ago I couldn't turn back. The door had slammed behind me and my choice was made. My future was in other people's hands to choose how it would go. I might rejoin the other path and be left as I would have been but with a sense that things might have been different.I might find myself in a new place though, a place of freedom and a place of possibilities.

One day ago. Everything changed. I found my destination and suddenly I wasn't sure if I liked it or not. My journey is at an end. Soon a new one will begin...

Oh well, that is quite enough poetic bull**** to be going on with. For those who have wondered what I am talking about in these occasional posts I can now reveal it. My last day of work is on tuesday. Scary, huh? This is a godo thing all in all, I hadn't been too happy at work for a while and this will give me a) a chance for a break and a holiday b) an opportunity to go and explore the job market further and see what other sorts of things jobs can offer.

This also means tonight will be celebrations of a sort and comiserations of a slight sort. I'm going to miss work: there are a lot of people here that I like an get on with. I'm sure there are a lot of places that are worse to work in. :)

Mood? Kind of sad, kind of happy, kind of excited, kind of afraid. A bit of everythign really.

Music? Megadeth - Cryptic Writings. :)

Thought so

Respect due for leaving, anyway. Any company that doesn't pay wages on time doesn't deserve to keep its employees.

And, of course, I hope that after your holiday you find somewhere good to work.

Good luck for the future - will buy you at pint at the weekend : )

And Dom's right, it sounds as if your work really haven't trated you properly. Plus, if you like folk there then when you're working somewhere else you can give them head-ups on any other positions there : )

Congratulations and commiserations...

...which are two emotions which are difficult to pull off at the same time. You have my sympathy and my hope. I'm sure I'll still be seeing you around.

Tell me where you'll be drinking. Having been your boss for a day or two, I figure buying a pint is in order.

Good luck! It takes a lot of courage to do that.
