My exciting life
Jul. 15th, 2008 04:51 pmNormally people ask me if anything is going on in my life and I struggle to find anything interesting to say. Currently though I have been very busy reccently because so many interesting things have been happening.
The main one is that I seem to be buying a house. I've been talkign abotu doing this for years probably but right now I have had an offer accepted, a mortgage in the pipelines, solicitors on the case soliciting or whatever it is that they do and all that kind of stuff.
Hopefully this link will take you there: New flat but if not then the address is 106c oxford road, kidlington and you can go find it yourself.
The relevant interesting points about the place is that it has two double bedrooms, off street parking and no outdoor area (ie garden) at all. I am trying to get it as soon as I can now. We have provisionally said end of august and for that to be realistic in the slightest my mortgage really needs to have gone through everything in the next four weeks. Not impossible but probably pushing it. :) The vendors have agreed to move into rented accomodation to speed up the sale (rather than waiting til they find somewhere to buy necessarily) so that should hopefully not hold things up too much but of course they will probbaly want assurances of the sale before they will agree to actually move out to avoid being left in the lurch).
Anyway, I've given all the stuff I've been asked for to the relevant people so I'm just waiting for now. Its kind of exciting. :)
Having a girlfriend isn't actually new but it occurs to me that I don't think I've actually mentioned it in my LJ before... Many people know about it since I talk to people in real life but it occurs to me that there are some on here who might only get gossip via LJ and thus not know...
So yeah. I am currently in a long distance relationship (that's weird for me, I'm still expecting to stop being able to cope and explode but it hasn't happened yet) with
mi_guida. This has been a both-living-in-the-same-city since it started last... err.. october ish or was it into november? I'd have to go check to even get an approximate date.. Am I meant to remember things like when it started even or do you just pick an abritrary date in the right ballpark if you get as far as anniversaries and things? I mean, is it easy to actually count when you first started going out since these things seem to not usually be an on off but a gradual thing where you then go "we're going out aren't we? I guess so" or whatever...
Anyway, yeah, that's the news on the girlfriend front. I've not actually seen her in the last few weeks since she's left oxford, gone abroad, gone to glastonbury, spent time at home, gone abroad again and that is where she currently is. I guess I'll have to get used to that since she is living in london next year. Not a million miles away but not practical really to go visiting on school nights. :)
It feels like there should be much more to say. It felt like I had a huge news post to write but I guess I have just been really busy with buying a house. Lots of visitations, meetings with people, searching for documents (about 6 hours of looking through various boxes over the weekend and last week for my paper part of driving licence before I found it at work) and all this. And before that of course house hunting, finance calculations, meeting with brokers, etc.
Its going to be quite nice to not be doing huge amounts...
I've been up to more mundane things too though. A few cinema trips recently for Wanted and Hulk (both of which I enjoyed - more detailed reviews if anybody wants them - wanted has so much that can be said about its plot...). Last week was a fun evening of Warhammer 40k as
unclegriff (does he have a proper LJ these days?) had won a night of gaming in games workshop and I went along as a supporter and turned into the roadie - sorting people out with food and drink and such like - I am the Games Workshop roadie king!)
Roleplaying progresses as my Dragon Blooded Exalted game is coming to a close (penultimate (probably) session tonight), a new Abyssal Exalted game started (one session so far, not sure when next is), the well loved Final Fantasy Tribute game is back from a long break when everybody was busy. A new Amber game will be starting up in london (must check back over mails since I believe I might owe e-mail on that) and a new Heroes game possibly starting that I owe e-mail on. I should note for the benefit of the GMs that both of these games are limited number so I will not pass on details for either without checking with the GM first - just in case people thought about askign if they can get in on them. I don't want the GMs thinking I am advertising their games without their say so. I'm just enthusing. :)
My car is having its windscreen replaced tomorrow. After taking it for MOT/service last week it got its windscreen chipped by the garage people while taking it to MOT. They sent somebody to repair the chip but there is still a visible mark so they are getting the whole windscreen replaced for me. That should be jolly exciting. I just hope it doesn't leave me with a leaky windscreen or one of the other horror scenarios sticking in my head!
Oh, and I am off to see a chiropractor tonight. My back is often aching and painful but I tend to just ignore it now. Its just background ache. I finally decided to try to do something about it though and so I'm going for initial consultation tonight were I will find out if I am making it all up and being a cry baby or if my back is worth having a nice lady playing around with to make it better.
That'll do for now. I might have more to say but I think that is it for now. Wedding season is coming up too which will be fun (only two weddings to be fair - I'm missing my cousins as well due to a clash).
And who knows, this might be the start of more regular updating... ;-)

(now of course I am being deliberately complimentary in a mean fashion to make you blush more).

It would be nice to see more, unblurry, pictures of you. Though the blurry one has its charm :)
