So on Tuesday night I had character gen for my new exalted game. For those that aren't interested in Exalted you might as well stop now. Probably those who aren't interested in roleplaying should have already stopped. Go read about my jujitsu again or something if you don't care about this.

So its a dragon blooded game and quite a high powered one is the plan. Its designed to just run over the course of the summer but I have a suspicion that it will last until later holidays as well. I gave everybody 200XP to play with so there was much rejoining along the lines of "Awesome, I can get all of *this* with that XP!"

Characters were genned. And by popular demand even though it was approaching the nominated end time we did some time in where I gave them a briefing. And demon summoning started already. Their initial brief came after they were gathered after a certain time of not seeing each other for a dinner party during which a servant delivered some information/rumours about a disturbance in the south with black skinned humanoid creatures having started to appear and attack the local area.

The PCs were kind enough to decide to go investigate since it didn't look like anybody else was going to. And Joe's sorceoror NPC summoned a ratty demony thing and told it to go off and investigate. I'm sure that won't caome back and bite him on the arse though. He did make clear that it wasn't to kill anything unless it was attacked first. And what are the chances of a demon being randomly attacked, eh? :)

I'm planning on trying to run this game with low preparation which should be fun. Making up dice pools as I go along and filling in plots and stuff as I go. I will have key scenes and NPCs sketched out but I'm going to try not to be too control freakish about it, something that often puts me off of running games due to the time they end up costing me. If I spend more time prepping for a session than the session lasts then its an epic fail. :)

And this isn't counting the time I'm going to spend trying to modify anathema to improve a few things. It should be a fun private programming project though will involve me trying to understand a bit more about Java...

I'm looking forward to next Tuesday's game though. Even if one player is already skipping a session (H for players who might be wondering).

Yay for Exalted!

What're you changing in Anathema? I was going to have a look at the source code yesterday but I couldn't access the SVN repository from work. I'd been all set to add sorting to the equipment list, too :(

I've used SVN before - it's just that I can't access it from work due to the firewall (and I've not tried at home yet). Unfortunately there's no actual source download on the site.

If you can forward the equipment database stuff that'd be cool. If you have a copy of the SVN downloads handy that you could zip up and send over, that'd be awesome :) I'm pretty sure adding sorting will be pretty trivial when I work it out. Or possibly replace it with a tree mode, showing Weapons, Armour etc. in separate branches. I'll see what it looks like :)
