Summer paintball trip

Umm... I did mention in my last post that I might organise another paintball trip sometime in the summer. I wasn't really asking for a show of interest though. It is quite interesting to see the wide and varied people who sound like they are up for it but I was really just making a throwaway remark. If I ever do do more than just considering it you can rest assured I will post to LJ about it at that point. Though it is nice to know I have a good idea and that I suspect from people yesterday and comments today there are at least 20 people we can get along. :)

Yay! Paintball! Ow!

I've been twice. The first time, we had somebody fall over, and land on top of their gun, with their finger inside the trigger guard. Result: one badly bruised finger. Side effect? Natural target for incoming paintballs. Much more pain ensued.

The second time involved me, as the last survivor on my team, making an acrobatic leap through the air, attempting to take out the last two members of the other team. I had the advantage of dense targetting. They had the advantage of watching me land, less acrobatically than I launched, and shot me while I was getting up. The actual problem was taking the full landing impact on my right knee. It was a week before I could walk without limping.

Yay! I'm up for it!

As RPGsoc social secretary, I feel obliged to mention that I'm seriously considering organising some sort of Official RPGsoc Paintballing Expedition, and will be continuing my research into the feasibility[1], cost-effectiveness[2] and desirability[3] of this target.

My simple reply to those questions would be:

1) If I went, then yes.
2) N/A.
3) From what I saw everybody who went yesterday had fun. Certainly I heard lots of cheers when asked if everybody had fun. :)

My only thing would be that I would personally like to do a more widely inclusive expedition. Though thinking about it all the people who have commented on my LJ who are not current RPGSoc members are almost certainly life time members and therefore could come. I just like the idea of doing something very big if possible. :)

Depending though I might be able to get Darren to help sort out a similar kind of deal as we got yesterday, do chat to me about it when you come down to planning.

Weellll... I think it could be fun. But, I am not in or a life member of RPGSoc. Though, this is a vague thing. Erm, yes.

Yeah, I guess its people like you which is why I don't want it to be just an RPGSoc thing. Though membership is quite reasonable... :)

I haven't gone paintballing for ages - but I'm up for it :) And yes, there is pain. But I want to earn my scars, dammit!!
