My hectic week and a half
Sep. 3rd, 2007 05:28 pmFriday will mark the start of what looks likely to be a hectic week and a half. It starts with a drive up north to Barrow-in-Furness for the wedding of
elethiomel and
ebq. This is about a four and a half hour drive.
Then I get to do the return trip on Sunday and then probably collapse at home for a time. Then I'm heading down to cornwall - another 4 hour drive. This will be either sunday evening, monday morning or split between the two (my parents live at about the half way point down in somerset). Then I have a holiday until Friday. Then I drive to south wales on friday afternoon. At least that was the original plan when I was making arrangements. Stargate LRP is in south wales and cornwalls in that direction so I can do both relatively easily. Now however due to a lost booking the LRP is happening some place north of banbury whcih is going to be a near 5 hour drive away [1].
I'm actually weighing up in my head whether I really want to drive 5 hours to go camp somewhere for a game. Part of me says "hell yeah! Its stargate!" another part of me says "If I don't I get to spend an extra day in cornwall". I think the part of me that is most thinking about this would like to wait and see how I feel at the time but then there is probably no chance of getting a refund if I don't go. Right now I'm not sure what the possibilities are but they are nice people so would probably be sympathetic to "can't make it if the site is that much further away".
The other option of course would be ditching Cornwall. I'd have the week off work anyway and would need to find other stuff to do. Upsides are about 9 hours less driving all in all and of course appropriate monetary savings. Downsides are of course not going to see people and have a holiday in cornwall. If I could think of other stuff to do during the week I'd be tempted but I suspect I'd just ahve a week off of bumming around, doing nothing and playing computer games and that is frankly dull...
I need to decide one way or another pretty soon really but today I just can't be bothered to make a decision. And I think possibly if I wasn't feeling so knackered today it might be a no-decision of "I can do all of those!". It seems though that my inability to stay asleep came back with a vengeance last night and I spent at most 2 hours asleep consecutively (I pretty much remember 1, 3, 5 and 7 am due to my body deciding to wake me up). If this keeps up I may not make it through the week, let alone worrying about what the weekend holds. :)
P.S. No, there was no real point to this post apart from me trying to work out exactly what I'm doing and to give people something to post comments on.
[1] It should be noted that I will need to do most of this drive at some point because the route goes straight past oxford which I need to end up at at some point anyway.
