And in a spate of random updating I shall relate the tale of my dinner last night. I decided to go out for pizza hut buffet before roleplaying. I headed into town and met up with
childofatlantis and we sat down to eat. She was jsut going to have a small pizza while I was going to go for the buffet. Fine plan except for no pizza out. So I wait and then pizza arrives. Two in fact. But with 15 people waiting that's one slice each. So I wait for the next lot. Much the same story. I've actually been there 20 minutes before I actually get my third slice of pizza at which point I have to start on vegetarian pizzas because the meet ones disappeared instantly. And I'm not much of a fan of vege pizzas.
still, this is better than my companion who while I was away getting my latest batch of pizza had the waitress say "Oh, the new guy in the kitchen forgot to cook your pizza." By the time I'd got back she had opted for the buffet (which was once again empty). She hadn't been offered the soft drink that comes free with the buffet (she'd been on the water before) and we'd been there nearly half an hour but that stage and only had about 15 minutes before we wanted to head off.
Eventually the pizza supply seemed to catch up (after we'd been there about 40 minutes) and we finished off.
childofatlantis due to feeling unwell anyway only had three slices of pizza. So I decided to argue the bill. It was remarkably easy really. "Hi, I'd like the bill please. And if its not a problem I'd only like to pay for one buffet." She didn't look happy but she didn't argue.
I'm not usually one to object but the fact that they didn't seem to cook any pizza for the buffet. Or for those that ordered it. You know, its not what you pay for, especially given the guys in the next table got the exact same problem. I wasn't very impressed by the way the waitress didn't have a sense of communal responsibility and just heaped the blame on this poor guy in the kitchen. It might have been his fault but in a professional environment you don't point fingers in front of the customer, you apologise and do what you can to make up for it.
There was a time when I was getting very tempted to walk out without paying anything so they got off quite lightly. And I was almost looking forward to making a scene if they argued. Standing in the middle of pizzahut shouting very loudly about how they don't bother cooking the pizza for you that you order would have been great. :)
