Well, for a change my day has been quite busy here. I don't seem to have got much done but this is mainly because I've been dealing with 101 million things and its been generally quite annoying. However, when I think about what is left to do it doesn't seem like much which is good.
I am slightly concerned by the number of changes that it seems I will be having to make between the dev and the live site. IDs that need to be set up again on live and so will be different and probably other bits and pieces. I think I'll need to make myself a list soon. It will be alright though. I'll keep telling myself this and it will be alright...
Getting in to work today was fairly easy. Nowhere near as scary as it could have been. The nice oxford tube took me to marble arch in record time. Quicker than getting to shepherd's bush has been sometimes in the past.
From there I took a nice stroll down oxford street and new oxford street before heading down drury lane to the office. Getting there to find that I couldn't get hold of anybody to sign me in. Fortunately Esther arrived at work as I was sitting in reception and got me in.
I now actually have my very own BBC pass valid for the next fortnight. Access to all the BBC buildings... Nice. :) I also got given my invite to the party. Should be very exciting since as far as I can tell it will be all the top people from New Media there. Top BBC people, Microsoft people, and other people but I forget who they are offhand. Famous people too though. :) I wonder if I'll be allowed a guest... Might have to try to find out nearer the time. At which point I will be opening the bidding. :)
Now back to work as I try to work out what I need to do next. Definitely time for a list I think. I think I'll bring my laptop in tomorrow as well. And some floppys. I can't connect it to the network but I can install stuff on it which means that I'll be able to run graphics software (for example) on it and be able to use nicer editors (I am getting used to emacs but I still know it far less well than I do Homesite for example).
Notepad... pen... All the ingredients for a good list....
