Messed up dates

It would seem that I am crap with dates. Or something of the sort anyway. I got myself all confused and thought that people were going out in london this friday (ie the 9th) for Steph and Rich's birthday. I'd got myself all psyched and so on and quite looking forward to going back to the ballroom. Then I discover while talking to somebody that I have got my dates wrong and that it is the week after in fact.

Not a big problem except that I have plans for that night already so can't do that. This leaves me a) needing something to do on friday b) wondering when I will next be going to the ballroom. I quite feel like going, drinking lots, listening to loud music and trying to enforce my new mindset of not hiding in corners because I dance like a muppet (kermit in particular).

Oh well, I'll see people in oxford on Friday night instead or something. Its easier and cheaper in general. :)

I'm rolepalying swordsmaster stuff on Sunday which should be good. Seems like ages since the last session and I have vague recollections of what is going on: parallel realms and a party as split as you can get with two different realms and not knowing where exactly the gateway between them is. Though there is a third realm I believe so if we really tried we *could* split the party further I think. :) I'm guessing Dawn would kill us then though. :)

I'll probably ramble more about my life later. I was only going to originally moan about my timing problems but then my rambling got hijacked by swordsmaster bounce. :)

My life and related matters

Well, I just glanced up and found it was ages since I said what was going on in my life.

Well, here are a few of the things that have happened to me recently that spring to mind.

My TV broke. Bastard thing. It doesn't turn on now. Probablly the transformer or something like that but I have no idea. On the plus side I bought three years cover for it when I bought it a year and a half ago. On the downside it is going to have to wait until friday for the engineer to come round since nobody will be in the house until then. This may mean that if he can't fix it on the spot that I will be without a tele for the weekend.

Actually that isn't strictly speaking true. I have my little portable TV down from upstairs. A nice 14 inch or so thing which is dwarfed sitting in front of the actual tele. Its a decent tele so nice signal and everything but it just seems so small compared to the 28" one. :)

Sunday I wandered up to redditch to play in the cam werewolf game up there. This was fun and involved dredging up some memories that will traumatise me lots (IC only, don't worry).

What about before that? Well, finally said goodbye to my parents home. They moved out on the last day of july and I was up there at the weekend before that for a final family meal and so on. It seems funny to think that I will never be back there. So many memories and christmas with parents will be weird since it will be in the wrong place. :)

I've spent a fair amount of time watching tele in the last week or two. I've decided digimon is a very cool cartoon and would be kind of tempted to try to run a game based on it. That is of course if it hadn't already been done lots. Season three is the stuff I am watching which takes place largely in the "real" world as well as the digital world. I cam in halfway through the series but my friend google pointed me at episode guides so I know what has happened.

I also am getting into my spiderman at the moment as well as enjoying some of the other favourites such as XMen.

I finished watching Spaced over the weekend. Two very cool seasons of comedy program. I'd go out and buy them myself but while still livign with Matt who owns them there is little point.

I've been doing other stuff too, I'm sure. I lost my impetus on the Exalted character designer. I think I will give up on an access user interface and write it in something else. Might use it as an excuse for learning .NET winforms and stuff.

The dragon blooded game I have been planning will run the weekend after next. Knowing me it is likely to run far longer than I intend but we have timetabled a weekend for it (all day saturday and I think an option of sunday but I don't *think* i'll need that). Last time I ran a one off though we abandoned it at 3AM and did the last three or four hours the next day. :) I have trouble with working out how long things will take and making things too complex I think.

At least this one will be more planned out and hopefully I will get the prelude stuff finished tomorrow night which will mmean straight into the game. :)

Anyway, off to grab a bite to eat now I think. More soon...

"Urgent" email

I've never liked the urgent flag that people put on e-mails. I just got an e-mail marked as having "high importance". It was telling me that an e-mail that has been sent out three times a day for the last three and a half months has the wrong from address. High importance? Hmmm....

Plans for tonight

There are some things I need to get done tonight. These are almost certianly not interesting to anybody else but I thought I'd put them down here so that I know what they are when I get home. :)

1) Properly write up character concept for Dawn. I've given her the rough three sentence outline (though it may have been shorted) but I need to send a bit more. A name at least. :)

2) Sketch up some more NPCs for my dragon blooded one off. I got about ten done over my quick lunch break and detailed up some of the main NPCs a bit more. Shouldn't take too long to do more. I need reference from the books to remind me about houses and such like though. :)

3) Watch digimon and other cartoons. OK. This one isn't necessary but I'll do it anyway. :)


And as an unrelated note spam sometimes makes me laugh. I'm not sure why but the subject line "My boobs are pretty big" just made me giggle a lot. Looking at the picture she is right though. Not big, just pretty big. And she was clothed in case anybody was wondering. on her knees and eating a lollipop which is probably pretty dodgy but compared to some stuff that passes through my inbox... :)
