I had a lovely little 1 Gig memory stick a while ago. I loved it and hugged it and stored files on it. I even stored my calendar on it. And the program needed to access the calendar. It made my life more organised.

I haven't seen my memory stick for some time now though. :( There is a high chance that it fell out of my pocket at some point, possibly when I was pulling other stuff out or something. The point of this post then is to see if any of you have found it around. Its in a little rubber shockproof thing, you'll know it if you see it. In fact, here it is - http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=292195 . Its remarkably good and for 35 quid not bad value. I'll be buying another if this doesn't turn up and think about attaching it to my keyring or something next time.

so, please somebody tell me you can reunite me with my memory stick...

I am sorry to hear that you lost your memory stick.

I would be devastated if I lost mine. (Currently sitting in a usb port and enabling me to work from home).

The only unbacked up data on mine is the work I'm doing today. Which shall be backed up at work tomorrow.

I like the way it allows me to carry stuff around with me. The files I'm working on are massively multiple and rather too big to email sensibly.

Damn, I wish I hadn't followed that link - now I have functioning USB ports at work I've been thinking I ought to get a USB memory stick, so thought I'd have a peek.

I saw <a href=http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=323515" target="_blank>this</a> and have had to lock my wallet in the drawer and swallow the key to stop myself buying it right now!

(no idea where the second half of that message went, first time...)

D'oh!

Thanks for the info re: the pen-drive. I'll have to check that in more detail before considering whether to get one... and to be fair, I don't need one with fingerprint security - I just want one 'cos it's shiny!

The special features include:
Operation only in Windows System
Software includes data encryption/decryption, web auto-login, web favorites, file management and flash mail
LED flashing in access
Hot plug-and-play
No driver needed for the fingerprint verification system

How it communicates with the user about the fact they've got the wrong fingers, etc, etc, without installing a driver, I dunno.

Unless there's a standard Windows driver that does the job... then you don't need to install a driver specifically for this: it's already there. But it does explain why it only works on Windows machines.
