A fun night and a slow morning
Jan. 11th, 2006 11:58 pmSo last night I felt in the mood to do something and be sociable cos of my good news (see last locked post) and s fortune would have it
mentalfirewall MSNed me to ask me if I fancied going round to Doom (a house) to watch some stuff. So I cooked some dinner and headed over. They'd just started watching House of Flying Daggers (
bateleur, fancy being helpful and giving me an IMDB link? ;-) and they bought me up to speed. Its a very silly and very cool film. I was a bit disappointed with the ending because I feel they should have had the big fight. I was looking forward to a cool big fight. It was all very silly with the stunts they pulled off and stuff though.
After that we ended up watching some Family Guy Season 4/5 (depending on who you listen to - the new stuff that's just showing in the US recently). Some bits dragged a bit (some very long cut-away sequences that were just a bit too long and got boring. There were some superb bits, the ones sticking in my mind the most being the Sand People/ben Kenobi one and the Police Squad opening. In fact, the police squad opening had me declaring that I didn't care how the rest of the episode went, the episode had already fulfilled its comedy quota.
Afterwards I would have gone to intrusion but as always I forgot it was on. It did explain why the housemate was out when I got home though. Instead I went to bed nice and early to be up bright and fresh the next day.
Oh such ironies. I actually got out of the house in not bad time, a bit late but not too bad. I then got stuck in horrendous traffic and turned up at work half an hour late. The real irony is that when I was at doom I made my excuses early explaining that it would be taking the piss to turn up to work 30 minutes late considering what happened and that I should make sure I was on time. Pants to that I say.
Working at home tomomrrow while nice man comes round to give our bath hot water. For some reason one tap in the house seems to not run with very hot water and that's the tap for the bath. The shower is still usable but the bath isn't really (so
quisalan reports). Should be sorted soon though I hope.
Anyway, I should go to bed so I can be up not too late tomorrow.

I still like Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.

(HoFD looked so dire from the trailer than I still haven't seen it.)
