A weekend in brief

chrisvenusWell, this is really just an excuse to whinge that I think I might still be a bit under the weather. Unfortuantely not too badly so I can't use it as an excuse to not do stuff but it makes me feel crap occasionally).
So friday night I left work late. Attempting to do a hardware exchange for our ADSL modem thing. We thought we'd set it up properly but outgoing connections worked fine and incoming ones didn't so after attempting to debug for a while duncan finally broke it entirely and at about 6:30 we decided to go home.

taigne and orthomyxo for a slap up meal to celebrate the former getting a job in oxford. We went to KFC. I had quite a nice chicken burger though. After that was anime which was thankfully not too busy and was showing some good stuff. I did fall asleep in some of it but IIRC it was only episodes of stuff I'd already seen. When anime finished I was anti-social and skipped G&Ds in favour of going home. I wasn't feeling very good but got home and read Cable and deadpool (Bri leant me the graphic novel format of issue 7-12). Its very good and need to go find myself a copy of it and the previous one.
Saturday I was up at the crack of dawn to get into london for an amber game. I managed to leave the house at 10 and to the park and ride to catch the oxford tube. Dozed on the way in and then took the pleasant stroll down oxford street, pausing on route for lunch. Got to the pub at about 12:15 and talked to some people. Lots of scary people I didn't know but there were some nice people so that was OK.
The game was more of a character gen session than a game for the first 5 hours or so. However, time in did happen around 6ish in a proper way with some smaller timing in happening before that to get to know family or friends. Unfortuantely part way through the afternoon I started feeling truly awful. I found a quite sofa to sit down in and feel a bit sorry for myself. This might be some signs of being still ill since or it might have been my own fault for drinking not just one pepsi but a couple of glasses. I probably bought it on myself.
I ended up leaving the game early (or before finish at least) partly because I'd made plans in oxford and partly due to not feeling too hot. Walked down oxford street again and got on the bus at marble arch. I got home about 10ish but was feeling very much like curling up on the sofa and not doing anything. I tried to persuade myself to go out and see people but ended up managing to do the opposite and persuade myself I'd just be miserable at a party and so went to bed instead. Or something, I can't really remember. Oh, yeah, I watched some of the fantastic Marple and Poirot anime. And then fell asleep.
Sunday I woke up and mooched around and played on the gamecube a bit. Vaguely wondered wherequisalan was since she didn't make it home but was reassured by a text message that she was not dead in a ditch so I stopped worrying too much. then I wandered into town for freshercon and played in James's game whose name I've forgottened but was something like "motorcycles, katanas and guns" which was fun and silly. Then went to the pub with people afterwards which was nice before wnadering home via bab van. Got home to find we had guests and so sat around with them (feeling a bit crap again). Then we watched Hitch hikers guide to the galaxy which I'd not seen before and found thoroughly enjoyable.
And then I went to bed pretty much.
So there you go. Sorry to anybody who I didn't see and was expecting to see me. ANd yeah, that was my weekend in brief.
