Brief day of shopping
Dec. 31st, 2004 07:44 pmSO today I went into town. I bought myself a new graphic novel. From Marvel its called "1602" and deals with an alternate 1602 in which the superheroes we know from the present day have been born 400 years early. So we have nick Fury, Dr Strange, several x-men, magneto and many others and from the future, causing this change in reality, Steve Rogers. Its written by Neil Gaiman, a good writer as everybody knows, and is very cool. It looks like it might have (or possibly will) spin off into its own comic run. There is certainly room for it. The marvel website blows though so I'm finding it hard to tell. Any comics geeks reading this able to tell me more?
Thought about buying some other stuff but borders captured too much of my time so I didn't get to many other shops to buy things. I did however chat briefly to a cute girl on the tills. If I were going to ask out a complete stranger it would be somebody like her. In the brief conversation I discovered that she was cute, liked old transformers but not the new and had an interest in comics. I wish I was more brasve and spontaneous sometimes. If nothing else she seemed (on first impression) to be somebody interesting to get to know.
While in town I meant to pop in to see a friend with a random pressie since I figured it would be appreciated (are random presents ever not?) but I was crap, failed to find the thing to buy and failed to get to the shop before 4:30. Oh well. Its the thought that counts, right?
Am now at home writing LJ as you can tell.
