A new cam character?

Well, I'm thinking abot starting up a new garou character on account of the fact that garou is the cam venue I really like and it'd be nice to have an alternative to my current character sometimes.

So, any suggestions on what I should play? What do you lot (aimed mainly at the cam people but open to anybody) think I would like playing and why?

My current thinking is on a non-garou at the moment but I'm open to all suggestions...

Kinfolk are great, but if i were thinking about starting a wee Silverfang secondary and you fancied something in a pack....

I don't know... pack sounds good but nothign about silverfang particularly grabs me at the moment...

I wasn't thinking of a Silverfang pack, merely that i've a Silverfang concept...

Its very rough, so could be filled out with more information on the rest of the Pack (like, what its for, n'stuff) and other folks...bit of history...

Yeah, either a kinfolk or non-garou or at most a low-rage garou. I really can't see you playing an ahroun or other garou with more rage than sense. But then, I'm used to Martin, so I might be judging more off your character than off you.

I think this is part of my trouble as well. I'm so used to playing martin and his low rage beliefs etc. that playing the rage 10 ahroun just doesn't appeal. It may be because of what I like to play or it may just be because of what I do play... I was hoping for a little more precise than that though. :)

What sort of non-garou should I be? What manner of kinfolk? Come on... you can do better than this! :)

You could consider something i had in mind a while ago...

Shadowlord Ahroun tactician/guerilla fighter...maybe a Metis (for totally different things).

If you were going to do Kinfolk you want something very different from Martin - 'traditionally' brought up Garou-lover/brainwashed breeder?

Hmmm... How about a child of gaia kin? *grin*

Tribe aside, you could go mystical or mundane, but with mundane you risk not having any kind of niche to play in.

How about a fianna black/silversmith with a dream of the perfect klaive?

Or a Child of Gaia schoolteacher looking to learn more about the garou so he can teach some kin kids at his school?

Or a Get of Fenris writer looking to get inspiration for his latest nordic fantasy bestseller?

Suggestions:

Think about what kind of relationship with your family you'd find interesting to play. That's what kin are, essentially. They are normal people with rather unusual strained family relations. I'd actually suggest picking a PC you like interacting with and seeing if they want relatives. IC family does do an awful lot for new kinfolk unless you have a particularly strong idea or concept.

Tribe-wise - it's flexible.

Work out if you're resentful kin, happy supportive kin, maritally minded kin - go from there.

The other choice you need to make is whether you want to be Actual Kin, or Kin With Wazzy Powers which is a very different thing.

id play something low rage because you can then talk to people who arnt garou without them crossing the street to avoid you. Glass Walker Raggie or Kin perhaps, i had an idea for a Glass Walker Kin DJ a while back, he was a bit in denial about his being related to garou. Of course this was in tabletop and not LARP though
