A weekend

Well, that's the end of the weekend near enough. It was fun. Party on Friday night was enjoyable, partly becaues I feel I helped make sure it all ran well by driving around a lot, carrying alcohol and other stuff and popping out for more drink midway. Made me feel a part of it. Got made to dance and looked stupid as always. Hopefully nobody was looking though. I think joe_smoke has it right when he says women look good and men look silly.

Back to Nat's for a bit afterwards which was cool. And some comedy drunkeness from one person who I will not incriminate. It was a good night though, I enjoyed it a lot.

Saturday was spent with a late start, some shopping in town with elethiomel after a Giler for breakfast. Then back to mine were I "planned for my game". I was planning so hard that I had to close my eyes to remove distraction. The deep rhythmic breathing that Steve heard as he played Jedi Knight was just part of my mediation to aid concentration. As was the occasional snore. :)

The evening was my star wars game. Four players in the end (wimble, narenek, taigne and elethiomel) due to a coupe of dropouts. It turned out to be a very good number though. Just enough room in Tommy's lounge. :)

The game was unplanned but went well I think. One of the reasons I chose to run it as a one off was becaues I can usually run star wars off the top of my head. And I did. No real system was used though I had a few dice rolled to give a random element. Made it all the more fun when there were a few crit failed rolls ("I went to try to probe the Dark Jedi's mind" *crit fails dice roll* "You now feel very angry, hateful and you want to kill him now. You hate him and all that he is.." Poor jedi master).

I certainly had fun and I talked with elethiomel afterwards and he seemed to. As always I'm worried that others weren't suitably involved and got sidelined a bit too much. On the other hand I think it was a nice evening witht he chat and things as well that if the game wasn't a success with everybody that they enjoyed the evening anyway. :)

Today was dossing with elethiomel again for the most part. Watched him play Jedi Knight some more (he's a scary way through already) and then we played some Quantum Redshift (like Wipeout but for the Xbox). I'm at the stage with one of the cars that it is upgraded enough that I am winning most races by virtue of the fact that I'm the only one to finish them. Hurrah for small tacnukes! :)

Dropped elethiomel at the station at about 7:30 and then pondered what to do with my evening. Came to the conclusion that I was tired and other people were doing stuff so came home, did some stuff and then played more games. Now its time for bed in prep for work tomorrow.

Plans for the week? Tuesday victoriana which should be cool. The results of the first round of the war between Japan and the triple alliance (britihs, french and american empires). It could go any way really, its all down tot he whim of the GMs I think and what they think would be coolest. Truth be told I don't think it looks good for the japanese but we shoudl at least cause them some problems.

Thursday is going to be anime which'll be good. Last of those series until next term I guess which will be traumatic. They're all getting realyl good so I dont' want to go without. Still, I guess I have to.

And after that? Well, christmas shopping sometime. Time for one of the other presents I need to sort out. Need ideas for all but one thing though which is the hard part. Still, can't complain really. I've made a deal with elethiomel that we won't buy each other presents. So much easier. Maybe I'll see him over christmas hols at some point and buy him a pint for a present and he can reciprocate. :)

I can't comment for the others, but I wasn't feeling sidelined. At least, not due to any action of yours. I did pretty much write myself into a corner with "Shy Jedi who only talks to his Master" as a concept.

It was always going to be a bit peculiar, personality-wise, in the time we'd got, and the lack of familiarity within the group of players.

Once the blatant stupidity took over, and we switched into action mode, I I was fine.

Not true! Frances and I were at the DJ desk looking down on the dancefloor and both of us thought that you and taigne looked absolutely adorable. So nuh! :P

See, your cuteness was sufficiently prominent to distract us from your dance style - a lesson for the future.

Gah! I specifically remember checking which spelling it was as well. I must have just not bothered to take that into account while writing. :) Corrected now though, thank you. :)
