This week has been a good week for me. Lets go for a calendar week of stuff that I've been doing shall we? Seems about right for most of my entries...

Last thursday had an very good conversation with friend that left me bouncing a lot. Slightly confused as well but in a positive and upbeat kind of way. Lots of smiling and lots of me making sure I didn't count chickens before they hatched. Anime in the evening and then ice-cream in G&Ds, talking mainly to [livejournal.com profile] taigne and [livejournal.com profile] kissifa which was good. Noticed a very cool picture in G&Ds that I hadn't noticed before. I can't remember exactly what it was but was roughly a "Go to G&Ds" sign being held up by a guy in a cow suit while standing in Starbucks holding it up in the window. I'll point it out to anybody who wants if you are in there with me whe you ask. :)

Last friday I took a day off to relax and recover from what had been a very long week the week before. My plan was to try to come up with more game ideas for sunday's eventually cancelled game and to catch up on sleep. I got a nice lie in and then sloped around downstairs trying to think of game ideas. None came. I put buffy on. I watched much buffy. 3 hours worth I think.

In the evening I went to David's place for Hackers and Biodome. One film that is classic amonst the geek world and the latter was being watched because it was trailed at the beginning of the video of hackers. A very geeky reason but it does look quite good too so that's alright. Got quite pissed watching hackers (you ahd to drink everytime there was teen sexual frustration whcih of course was every time there was a female in the same room as the male geek heros). Biodome was a very silly film which I can't be bothered to describe. I'm sure IMDB will tell you if you care that much. Reminded me a bit of dude where's my car and other things with a pair of silly brainless heros.

Saturday was a day of much buffy. 6 hours of it to finish season 7, all the while (well most of the while) trying to come up with game ideas. It was a great season and a great finale. Took me a while to come down so I was slightly late to Renaissance. Not too bad though. Good renaissance in the evening (which reminds me need to send an e-mail to GMs to talk to an NPC) which contrary to my original fears is still maintaining my enjoyment a lot. And to note my original fears were related to my character and not to the GM team).

After the game and G&Ds a small posse (Dan, [livejournal.com profile] taigne and me) went back to Dan's place and watched some REginald Perin. Very good. Must watch more at some point. Then at about 02:30 or so home followed by another 30-60 minutes of trying to come up with game plot by brain storming through a couple of rule books. Sleep followed by an 8AM start (on a sunday? for the love of god!) and more attempting to come up with plot. By this time I had alreayd toyed with the idea of cancelling and decided that the decision would be made at 9AM. At 9am still no plot (well, to be more precise shed loads of plot but none of it actually useable in the next session) so I phoned around people and cancelled.

Then with a clear day ahead of me it occured to me that I would actually have time to go and give [livejournal.com profile] taigne a birthday present. So I did. I planned my arrival to ensure that her family would have had plenty of time to come and go first, only to discover when I got there that they were going to turn up 2.5 hours later than their original plan. Oh well. :) She got some Dark Angel DVDs from her parents so after they had gone we watched some DVDs and chatted and stuff and much goodness came from chatting. Me happy bouncy person. :)

Had to abandon ship there at about 5:30 to go home to get stuff for Cam in the evenings. Picked up my DC stuff and headed to the venue. Started worrying about renewals before realising exactly how few I actually had to deal with. Was almost laughable. :) Was playing a different character for the session that didn't work too well for me, mainly I think because I didn't know people IC. I did have some nice RP with another VA though as he explained to me a lot of the VA history and our specific conflict with the technocs. A bit annoyed because there was stuff going on there that I really wish my other character had been told about in advance since he would have wanted to be there. A big pisser but these things can't be helped. Nobody told him IC about the big important discussions so he couldn't rearrange plans to be there.

Monday was... Ummm... well, back at work for a start which was sucky. Spent large parts of the evening reading Gambit comics ([livejournal.com profile] taigne is corrupting me) and also chatting to Lucie, Brian and, of course, [livejournal.com profile] taigne.

Tuesday was Victoriana which was dead cool. Playing my flaw out properly for the first time was glorious and so appropriate in the face of the potential annexing of the Japanese empire by the British, French and American Empires. I have some plans that may work to get around this slight issue but we will have to wait and see if they work. Really looking forward to the next session. I think it will either end with the imminent defeat of the japanese empire or the world plunged into a long war that nobody will win easily. And its possible that once some of my weapons have been unleashed they maynot be releashable. :)

After victoriana (whcih many japanese delegates left early) we went to the pub and chatted. Much ensuring that there were not hard feelings between the various antagonists in teh war as well as trying to persuade [livejournal.com profile] joe_smoke that he was Japanese, that our emperor was his god and that there are four lights... We will have him in good time. :) After that home... well, that was the plan. After my car refused to start after dropping off Bri I sulked at it a lot, poked it and it still wouldn't start (sounded like the starter motor wasn't even kicking in, just a repeated click similar to the noise starter motors make when jammed). Ended up crashing there with the plan to be up very early to try to fix it with daylight to see with. In the morning though it worked first time. I have suspicions that car has a mind of its own. I also have suspicions about its motives so have had words. :)

Yesterday was a very unproductive day at work. Spent a long time getting little done. Would have been very pissy and unhappy in the evening had the last hour of the day not actually turned quite productive. In the evening managed to watch X2 at last. I love the film and what they have done with nightcrawler in it. Him fighting is just wonderful...

They had vast numbers of special features on it (an entire discs worth) which were mostly quite interesting. History of x-men, making of, make up, galleries and much more. We probably spent as long watching special features as we did watching the film. Then as we realised it was gone midnight we called it a day.

And now today, back at work. Not going too quickly but at least its going rather than just stalled. Anime tonight and games night briefly beforhand. Need to get ticket for christmas party tomorrow. The weekend will hold party tomorrow night, running star wars one off on saturday night, planning and writing backgrounds for star wars one off probably saturday afternoon. Have most of the ideas in mind, just need to write them. Sunday not sure.

Oh, but I have decided I need a giler at some point on Saturday. Maybe I'll drag steve into town for that and have lunch there or something.

So that's my week. I've been very bouncy since sunday. I think most people seem to know but feel free to ask if you don't. You probably have my e-mail address. :)

Or have the remotest of abilities to spot repetition ;)
