There was a notepad that I wrote all my notes in on the last Dragon Blooded game. This notepad is not in the bag with all my other exalted stuff. At least I have the folder of character sheets and things. Hmmm... maybe people have written useful notes on them... *goes to check*

Failing that I'll just have to fall back on the usual tried and tested method of making it up as I go along and counting all of my mistakes as "plot". Hmmmm maybe I should take them into a wyld region where consistancy is not required. :)

I'd say that I suck as a GM but I'll wait to see how the session goes on saturday before making that assumption. I might suck as prep but I think I'll do alright at the game. The players seem to have had fun previously independantly of my actual prep work. :)

You 'n' me both!

You saw how much I ever wrote down for my Amber games, didn't you?
The start of each session consisted of a brief recap of who was where, and the players immediately started dithering about what to do next. Whilst dithering, they both conveniently reminded me of minor details I'd forgotten, and provided me with time to get inspired.

I did actually do prep for Per Dementia, Ad Infinitum at Ambercon. I...

  1. thought up an inspired game name whilst driving home from Simone's Amber game in Reading.

  2. produced a cliff-hanger game description when I was bullied into doing so at a later session.

  3. finally wrote up a page of timing events to run on the day.

  4. Oh, and the names of the three bad guys!

Admittedly, in the process (somewhere between steps 2 and 3), I had to come up with the grand plot concept. But that did quite largely stay in my head.

All came out good in the end.

I must admit, it's where required game reports for Cam can actually be a blessing in disguise...

That said, I keep the majority of my plots/plans in my head, even if they do get scribbled on the back of postit notes as well - I do /have/ a Notepad O' Doom - but it has so many different database designs/character background scribbles/character sheets/doodles/shopping lists/game plans that actually finding any one thing can be almost impossible :)
