How I laughed

chrisvenusI have to relate this immediately before I forget. One of the stupidest things I have had to stop somebody from doing for some time...
We have a water cooler in the office that is about 20 feet in front of me. It had emptied as it often does and so somebody took off the dead one and went to get a new one. These are the big water things that hold several gallons of water. He placed it on and after doing so somebody said, "Did you take the plastic thing off the end?"
Now. The situation is this. He had placed the water bottle onto the top in such a way as to break the seal at the bottom (that is covered by a thin layer of polythene or a sticker or something). He realised that he hadn't taken off the polythene/sticker and so what does he do? He goes to lift it up.
A frantically shouted stop arrested this disastrous plan before he sunk the office as I suggested that maybe he should see if the water was coming out before removing the bottle.
As somebody else then pointed out I should have just left him to it. It would have been hillarious.
Oh, and since some here might now him his name is Mark Robson.
