chrisvenusJust thought I'd mention a cartoon that I am enjoying on TV at the moment. ITs called Chris Colorado and is a french made production (dubbed). The plot is really interesting, a standard post apocalyptic world after a meteorite crashed. Add to that a war between the bad guys led by Thanatos and the good guys led by Richard Julian. The plot follows a guy called chris colorado who is a special forces style agent.
The reason I like it is because the plot is a whole lot cooler than I discovered. Thanks to the way scheduling seems to work I've been watching it in a very random order so have been picking up bits and pieces here and there.
The plot is all very incestuous with the majority of the main characters being related. Thanatos goes through two incarnations, both of whom are brothers and are in addition brothers to Richard Julian. One of the brothers is Chris's father and the big bad guy, Herb Forsyth the third, is chris's grandfather (on the other side). All very incestuous you think but there is a reason. It turns out herb forsyth was a clone created 200 years ago who was for reasons I don't quite follow created to be evil. He escaped and has basically tried to destroy the earth.
He found out about some ancient civilisation and a device they built to repel meteor's with Dark Torrent, a nasty liquuid that is mutagenic and in addition drives people a little meglomanic. He had found some dark torrent and experimented on a child genius called sam krantz with the result that he decided he needed more. dark torrent to play with. So, he found a meteor and found the repelling device and reversed it to attract the meteor to crash into the eath causing destruction and misery.
However, Sam Krantz, now a bit older, worked out a way to shoot it down and so it was half destroyed before it got to earth. However, some still crashed down. Later still Herb Forsyth has vowed revenge on the Krantz family (Sam has three sons, Richard Julian, William Erwin and Wenceslas Oleg). He sows discord among the brothers by creating a female clone that they all fight over (and ends up being Chris Colorado's mother) and tricks one of them into going to where the meteor crashed and drinking the dark torrent, becoming the first thanatos and a puppet to Herb Forsyth. From that point on thanatos leads the bad guys and richard julian leads the resistance/federation.
Most of this is background rather than in show events (though it does all get replayed as flashbacks), the events of the show deal with the overthrow of thanatos and the binging to justice of herb forsyth.
Basically its a very cool cartoon in a cool post apocalyptic world with a cool background. Anyway, I just thought I'd share that while I sat here and did nothing. I'll be looking through to work out what more I need to do to the website I'm working on soon. I'll stop for lunch first though I think.
