chrisvenusWell, I'm back from a fab evening out. The RPGSoc banquet tonight which thanks to a double booked friend I got a last minute ticket for. I faffed a lot getting ready and thought I was going to be late but it seems not. I got there before a good half dozen peopel and at least 20 odd minutes before we actually went in to eat.
Lots of nice people to talk to, totalling about 15-20 odd in the end. Not a huge number but a pretty good number since I got to talk to most people in the end.
I got rather drunk after drinking probably a total of a bottle and a half of wine. I thinkthe shots of whatever the hell I was given probably don't count but given the multiplicative effect that mixing spirits with other stuff has on me I am not convinced. I was certainly a little worse for wear. :)
I spent a long time talking to Natalie who I never really see much as well as lots of other peopel including tony (who finished work recently), Rei, Bri, Neil James and other frehsery types. I can't be arsed to do a full name check. Lex who I discovered I do quite like which i didn't know before. And others.
I definitely don't get the distinction of being the most drunk since there was ARthur (aka Wart) who is the society president and was quietly passed out behind a sofa for a fair while before allegedly chucking. I at least was always sober enough to avoid *that*. :)
There was a lot of chilling out done with lots of nice peopel before a dispersal happened. Some people were going back to Rei's room to watch anime so I decided to be unoriginal and join the throng. Due to chatting to other people too much I lost them and ended up playing catch up (with a bottle of wine that I am sure helped the wobbly vision). I have recollections of having to stop to see if I could see them since my eyes weren't keeping track with the bouncing of running or walking. :)
I did catch them up though and got to Rei's room to watch Anime. We watched some ranma (which I remember little of), Utena (ditto) and Hellsing (so I am told but I only remember seeing the end credits). Why am I very vauge on this? Well, firstly due to good old fashioned drunkenness. The hellsing I think I missed all of due to just being fast asleep on Rei's bed. I think I must have been asleep for several hours since large numbers of people had gone when I woke up and I reckon that I must have been in the room for at least four hours (probably nearer five) and I remember about 30 minutes though after factoring in alcohol I was probably awake for 1.5-2 hours. Optimistically. :)
Anyway, at 5:20 when I woke up with people leaving I got up, grabbed my coat and fell out the door with people. I suffered a brief early hangover but that might have just been me waking up and feeling crap as a result. This happens. :) Wandered half way home with Joe who is at St Cats and thus was on route. He had caught people up on route to Rei's since he wasn't at the banquet thing. Chatted to him a bit which was good. Thinking about it though I can't remember what we talked about at all so maybe I was still a bit pissed, just more sober than when I was heading to LMH. :)
And that brings me back here. Why I am not in bed now is a mystery as yet unexplained but I just felt like writing up a remarkably good and wonderously free evening before it slipped out of my mind. I'm definitely glad I did this rather than EB down in london. And I shall swear off alcohol forever. I expect this to maybe last a week or two but might not even last past tomorrow night (or is that tonight? Oh god!)
Anyway, the time is now 7am so I shall stop here. Seems as good a place as any. :)
