Failing to realise that a 500 pound credit card bill is due to be paid is bad. This leads to having 500 pounds less than you thought you had which leads to major stress. From this point on I officially declared myself to be even more broke than I was before. This means that not only will I not be going anywhere but when I do I am unlikely to buy anybody drinks or whatever else, even if they have bought me ones. I am now also officially a charity case and am no longer too proud to accept freebies from people.

At least I got paid the rest of the money by the BBC. I estimate that I will be alive for another two months as a result and assuming I get the *other* BBC money then I reckon I will be alive for another three months. After that I may well be declaring myself to be a failure.

Life! Oh what fun it is. :(

Oh, and big apologies to everybody that dislikes whiny "my life is so bad" posts. I try to avoid them but right now I could really do with lots of people just saying "It'll be alright" even if it won't be. It probably will be though really. I have a nice landlord who will probably not mind me postponing rent for a bit if needs be (as long as he knows), family who will probably lend me money that I need and friends who will be there for me if needs be.

Now just to work out if spending a tenner to go to a cam game is worth it. Unfortunately phrased like that I am not sure it is. Poo. :( Maybe I should think of actually selling some of my spare computers to earn some cash. Anybody be at all interested in a roughly P3 800 or a roughly P2 333? If so how much would you give for them?

it _will_ be alright..

I would imagine it will, especially since you have marketable skills and some experience in using them.

Me, I want computers! Um, something I could run Windows or Limux on, or maybe do that weird dual-booting thing peope talk about. How much are they worth? I

Depending what else is going with them (monitor? software?) I'd guess at them being shiftable for up to about 100 and 300 or so, but I'm out of touch with that sort of thing. The basic one should be OK if you want something to learn Linux on. Of course, you need a proper Windows machine at some point :)

You'll be OK - these things do tend to work out eventually. If you want how-to-live-on-no-money-at-all advice, feel free to ask - I spent the last couple of years being a charity case (during my MPhil). It sucks :-(
*hugs*

It will be alright

Rich or poor, you're still a good bloke.

Unfortunately being a good bloke does not put food on the table, as I am finding out the hard way. But it's a heck of a good start.
