chrisvenusWell, its 6:10 AM and I have just got back from gencon. I'm here now for a combination of reasons. Firstly I might heave some work next week and I don't want to be too trashed if that is the case. Secondly I have nothing that I am doing tomorrow at Gencon and thirdly I can try to get the house into a vaguely acceptable state before tfm and ag get back tomorrow evening.
Lastly I had nowhere to sleep and I figured back to my own bed was better than a hard floor somewhere. Oh yes. :)
This is going to be the quick summary of my long weekend, a more detailed version to come tomorrow.
Thursday
Got up and faffed and did stuff and ended up leaving the house abotu noon which got me to olympia at 2:30ish. Spent most of the day chatting to people and so on. A fair few people I knew, mostly cam people. Got offered some contracting work next week. Headed off to see simon and caroline in the evening with the hope of crash space whcih fell through. Headed back to olympia and bumped into Dave Keyes who offered crash space so taxied back there. No actual gaming done. Good day though.
Friday
Had a werewolf game starting at 10. Nightmare. Up at 8:30 to tube across london. Was goign to get a bacon baguette from my old favourite place at london bridge but was short on cash so didn't. Got to game on time which was fun. Met a few new people I didn't know already. Chilled and socialised. Played more games. Finished the evening and back to Evil HQ for crash (thanks Isi).
Saturday (today?)
Not as early a start. Up about 11:30 and off to olympia about half an hour later. Did stuff in the afternoon including shopping and chatting to people. Played a couple more games, one of which I was not in the right mindset for. Sabbat finished the evning which finished about 3:30AM. After some chatting and stuff I left olympia at 4 and got on the bus. It felt weird since it seemed to be a school bus, I think there must have been a school disco outtiing from oxford...
All in all it has been a fantastic weekend and I really loved it. More details *will* follow but I thought I'd try to recall some of the fab people I have met in case I forget. There are lots of cammies that I hadn't met in the flesh before but most I had met over IRC/LJ/mail lists so that wasn't new people. Thinking about it I unfortunately can't remember the names of most of them, many I am not sure I ever knew thinking about it. "Girl with brick" is the short description for one of the cool girls. I dare say I will explain that later though.
Werewolf ST was a cool bloke. Max (who is the one name I remember) was a very cool person. The two guys I played Hive with tonight, one of whom was called "chris" as well. The cool guy running the xbox stand. Blah, there's loads of them. And I should also add a sufficient totty quotient to keep me happy. :)
*yawn*
Bed now though I think. See you all monday. :)
