WEll, its been forever since I've done anything useful with my LJ. And its been a long time since I posted anything here of moderate interest to any of you. Well, the only bit about that to change will be that I'm posting. Its not going to be that interesting and by god it won't be useful. It will just be.

So, why haven't I been updating more? Ummm... well, combination of busy and nothing that I wanted to say. And I think just not being bothered. Computer games are seeming more appealing than LJ at the moment and I'm tending to be working at work a bit at the moment.

Work is being alright at the moment. Getting to play with one of our internally developed stand alone apps (its a development/configuration tool) which is kind of cool because I've not done much stand alone app development - its been mostly web dev stuff.

We've got reviews happenign at work and I always hate them. I'm fairly sure the worst that will happen is I'll get told off for timekeeping but I don't think I'm likely to even get that this year. I've been quite good. I'm oping also that the end of the review process will mark an increase in pay as well. I'll be annoyed if it doesn't purely because you should really be getting pay rises to cover inflation or whatever anyway.

Other stuff? Car is still lovely. I've taken it to parents and back now, discovered that people can just about go in the back if they are not going far (leg space is rather cramped).

Cinema? I've been to see a fair few films probably since I last posted. St Trinians most recently was much better than I thought it would be. I mean, I always knew it would be good for cute girls in school uniform but it was also funny, all the actors were great and this even includes russell brand who I've never particualrly liked before.

Other than that Enchanted was a fun fairy tale with a twist and was most amusing for the real world/fairy tale crossover stuff. Golden Compass was a great action film that I loved, possibly because I hadn't read the book. Beowulf I wasn't keen on, it was kind of pretty but the story didn't grab me. There was nobody to particularly like in there as far as I was concerned so I didn't find myself caring about the events that much. Stardust was ages ago now so I may have mentioned it before but was a most excellent film just what an action adventure comedy type film should be. :)

Hmm... what other topics to talk about? I've had some ups and downs emotionally. A recent down has left me on a good upswing. I won't go into details on a public post but may if I feel the urge private post some of it. I'm not sleepign well at the moment. This is bad in some ways because I am feeling very tired a lot of the time. On the other hand it does mean I wake up in the night and remember lots of dreams and such like. Last night was doctor who and some kind of vampiric contagion thing and some living music or somesuch. With a dose of superheros and preknowledge of events. Though I didn't see the doctor that much in my bit so not as exciting as it could be.

I read many books over christmas. This was after receiving the first three Harry Dresden books (to all those that reccomended them last christmas thank you) and the three Terry Pratchett Discworld books featuring the Wee Free Men. And then I bought x-men commics and read them too.

I was thinking about a review of the year at some point. I've missed the exciting new year point so may do one next week for my birthday. I probably won't get around to it though. ;-)

I think that covers a lot of things. If there is anything that you want me to post about particularly do feel free to ask, I feel this has all been a little dull and I'm sure there are things I could post about interestingly that I have forgotten. So yeah, feel free to ask me things or tell me things that I did that I should post about.

Oh, and if anybody has any suggestions for what i might do for my birthday feel free to shout. I'm not really that fussed about partying and such like but I feel I ought to think about marking my 30th birthday with more than just some cake at work or something. On the other hand there is logic that says its stupid to do something just because rather than it being something I want to do. so suggest things and enthuse me...

Blogging about computer games is highly welcome. Preferably in an edgy New Games Journalism style, but random rambling is good too. ;-)
