Today

Today I am mostly sitting around dossing... :)

I'm in slough for the day at the offices of one of our subcontractors. I've had an hour and a half (or so) of preliminary meetings and the developer guy has now goone off to code and play. I'm now kicking my heels... :)

Well, actually I have other stuff to do but basically its going to be a relatively easy day...

My plan is to get my laptop out in a minute and write some perl. At some point I will download putty and jump on IRC.

Work can be great sometimes.

Oh, especially because yesterday I got a pay rise! From the beginning of this week (ie last monday) I'll be on a whopping 25% more than I was before. This is mainly to reflect that they hired me on monkey work wages (ie data entry type purposes basically) and now I am helping to produce some web sites and am quite a key member of the team.

I was quite chuffed that apparently this went up the management chain with nobody really asking why and everybody just went "yup. Cool." :) Makes me feel scarily valued. :)

P.S. For those nosey buggers who want to know how much I earn feel free to ask. I don't mind saying but I just don't really want to shout over a public forum since, well, its not the done thing, you know? :)

Out of touch...

Due to big pockets and some slight muppetry I am currently without mobile phone... :)

This is mainly a public announcement to tell you not to bother trying to phone me and to apologise if you already have.

Hopefully I will be able to go and get my phone tomorrow. Hopefully depending on whether I can persuade work to be nice to me and that I can work from slough again tomorrow... Otherwise I'm out of touch for the weekend which will be very awkward since there are phone calls I am expecting and phone calls I need to make...

Meh

Feeling a bit meh tonight.

NOt sure why. I've just been feeling bored and nothing seems to be interesting enough to relieve the boredom. Or anything that might be is too much effort.

I am officially "meh".

Shall be fine tomorrow but I think it might be a good reaosn to get an early night. Though I am now on my upstairs computer and am worried I might just find a game here and then not bother going to bed (I've been playing spider solitaire for two hours - stopping was too much effort).

Oh well, on the plus side its been a while since I've had days like these...

Oh, and Foamy the Squirrel is cool. And http://www.illwillpress.com/rant.html is just for a certain person. They know who they are... :) And probabyl its unsubtle enough that everybody does too. :)
