Roleplaying thoughts
Jul. 10th, 2003 12:54 pmOK. I have to admit it isn't really roleplaying thoughts, its Exalted. I just wanted to try to sound like I'm not too obsessed. :)
Been thinking recently after some conversations on the official WW mailing list of a few one off games. Now I'm a man who likes to have a single world to run stuff in rather than branching out but a lot of the one off ideas I've had for exalted would be too disruptive to the other stuff I am running. However, I really like some of the ideas I've had, especially the latest one.
So, I came to a solution. I've decided to run two exalted universes. My serious one which is where campaigns will be set and have long running plots, politics, and all that kind of bumph. And then the one off one which will be a lot more open and shut plots, more world shattering and probably a lot more anime.
The first game I want to run is the one inspired off the mailing list. Five teenage angst-ridden exalted, one from each of the different types of exalted, piloting mecha... I mean war-striders to fight the bad guys (which might be war striders or big creatures of other types but on the same scale), possibly collect fragments of a mystic artifact and save the world. Yeah, I'm sure you recognise several anime series in there already (but feel free to tell me what they are so I can watch them if I haven't already).
On other stuff I have *finally* got my next Dragon blooded game session planned. It's been so long since the last one that I have forgotten half of what happened. Hopefully I'll be able to find my notes from somewhere. :) If not then I'll make stuff up and if they tell me I contradict myself then I will call it "plot". :)
Must make preparations for another exalted game too. Probably a term time solars game but I'm not sure. I am getting a little more tempted by lunrs after a discussion of them recently. Abyssals I'm not interested in running at all but ghosts quite probably. Maybe I'll make it a primarily solars game but with the option of playing lunars if people want. Or maybe even just find some players and let them choose. :)
Just realised the irony that a while ago I was complaining about too many fantasy games and here is me running some more. But this is exalted. Everybody wants to play it, surely? :) Whic reminds me. Must see how much it would cost me to buy the new exalted t-shirt they are bringing out. I'd link to their website with a picture of it but I can't access it from here so I won't. :) Roughly speaking it says "play exalted" on the front in a small image and on the back a big image of one of the abyssal characters and the words "or die". Something like that anyway. And gien I think everybody should play exalted it seems kind of suitable. :)
Anyway, that's enough for now. Might do a brief life update at some point. Going to go worry about some other roleplaying now. Renaissance is a fun and shiny mythic game that I need to start writing my background for. http://renaissance.wartworld.net for those wanting to look at what its all about.
