Earlier in the week I was having some surreal experiences due to tiredness and found myself travelling home from london and feeling like I was watching a film. there I was, shiny new mp3 player playing my music but it didn't fit. Thus I need a soundtrack, a soundtrack for my life. My mp3 player can hold 32Meg of music currently, that's about 30 mins of mp3s. So what should I put on it to act as a soundtrack of my life? :)

Just a quick note. I'm surprised at how many of my friends have either very uninteresting (visually) web pages or have them that are very out of date. Or both.

I have to admit that I had a web page for a while that was bloody awful and never got updated. However, I thought I would give a genlte reminder to anybody reading this whose web page might say "This webpage last updated 26th April 2001" that it might need updating. Yes, this is aimed at somebody but I'm not going to name and shame.

The thing that struck me though is just the usual thing that "geeks" often have web pages but ones that are incredibly simplistic (ie no layout, no real use of colour and very little, if any, graphics. It has information but no creativity or excess data. No wasted bits and bytes for layout or design. Its amazing though how little it takes to make a page look noticeable. Even just specifically choosing colours to avoid black text on white background is a start. CSS also makes life a lot easier. One very simple web page can often be fantastically transformed by a separate CSS.

Anyway, I suppose this is the rant of somebody who does web pages for a living. My web pages is coming along nicely and should be sorted fairly soon. I have a lot of content written but am still looking for an extra element for my web page. The idea I originally had seems a little poor. I'm vaguely considing having an "ad space" on the page for putting in silly little things or links or something. Maybe "feature space" might be a more apt description. I don't know. I'll work on it...
