Happy birthday to me
Jan. 21st, 2002 12:01 amWell, its my birthday and what can I say? I'm another year older. To quote a bad joke I heard a while back I'm 4!
For those not recognising maths expressions 4! means 4x3x2x1. yes, I'm the ripe old age of 24. This year my birthday seems to have come up on me almost unexpected. Work has been really busy and my weekends have been quite jam packed in soem ways too. I've just not really sat down and thought about my birthday at all.
It doesn't feel like it is happening. I was home over the weekend and got some cards and some presents. I suppose more than anything though its the fact that I've been too busy to think about a birthday plan or too busy (the weekends each side of it were booked out pretty much and I didn't know I had the day off work until last monday.
My plan for the day will probably consist of sitting around watching videos. Maybe go shopping at some point. Yes folks, that is the most excitement I am likely to have on my birthday. And to be honest I'm not sure I want that much more. Having a party would be too much effort. I hate hosting parties and so on. Organising to go out to a pub would be similarly effortful and I'm not a big pub fan.
The suggestion I made was that people can come round here (as in my house) if they want to. This was only really said to my housemates so people are only likely to turn up if they let others know. To be fair in my current mood I am not sure I really want company. I am feeling very much like tomorrow (today) should be like any other day.
Things might change when I get presents and stuff. I've opened one card already that was an e-card. It was nice but didn't make me feel much more birthday-like. I'm guessing that maybe its just one of those things. Birthdays just lose their appeal as you see more of them.
Oh well, I'll go to bed soon and see if tomorrow does seem more birthday like...
