Its a start

Well, since people may start finding this place here's an entry.

Its not much, just a hello. Later on I will spend hours playing around with all the styles and stuff and then start posting properly. What exactly you will see here is another mystery to me. My vague philosophical musings on life to a large extent I'm sure as well as the odd rant about this that or the other. Possibly an insight into the way my mind works but considering how much I try to avoid that I think it unlikely. :)

And that is that.

Dammit. I put a first entry up and its been eaten already. Or disappeare into a wormhole. Or gained sentience and walked to somebody else's LJ or something...

Testing

Typical isn't it? I hit on a colour scheme I like and then start looking through the layouts and find one I like better. I had assumed that the colourschemes were going to be used in similar ways but no. No, of course the colours are used differently and stuff. Time to go replaying with colourshemes and stuff. I'm sure that I could do it better myself... And its all open source...

Why do I get the impression that I am going to spend time I really don't actually have to spare reading through the code to find out how all this works, getting on teh developers groups and generally wasting far too much time finding that they probably have done it in the best way... Oh well. There are worse ways to spend more time than you have. :)

Oh and the point of this was to apologise to all those who are trying to look at this page at the moment and finding it all weird to look at and erratic. Bad conenction isn't really helping me get it done quicker and it might end up staying like this til tomorrow or something. I dunno. Anyway, this was just to let you all know I was testing. :)

How to confuse LJ in one easy step

Not quite sure what happened but I think I confused the hell out of this poor server...

All it took was a laptop backdated by 10 months (absolute time limited demo software) and a slow connection.

I wrote a post (which might end up nuked to oblivion as I try to rectify this problem) to say sorry cos I am playing with settings in case anybody was looking cos it went occasionally unreadable and occasionally just plain unpleasant. However, when I came to look at it it had been back dated to february and there were seven copies of it. Now, I might have clicked twice on the button cos I couldn't remember if I had actually clicked go (there was certainly no indication it was loading or anything) but certainly not seven times.

And to top it all off whenever I try to edit half of them I find it claiming that it can't find them to edit or whatever... I don't know... I'll get the hang of it sometime, I'm sure... :)

End of Day 1

Well, my first adventurous day on Live Journal. ITs been action packed the whole way really. Covert surveillance operations located my live journal before it was ready to go public. Time travelling posts appeared from last february and are currently happily sitting somehwere in next saturday and not forgetting, of course, the messages that started breeding like tribbles. By the time I actually got to viewing one of them there was 7 of it. Luckily my trusty sawn off dealt with them easily enough.

The colour scheme is good enough for now but really does need an overhaul at some point. Its dark and has that kind of look whose name I can't put my finger on but I like. My main problems are I think when I deviated from the greyscales. The blue and red I am not entirely sure fit. Opinions on V2 look'n'feel are more than welcome...

So I guess I'm going to bed now. Welcome one and all to my live journal. I guess it is pretty much ready to go live now. I kinda like the idea of having a futuristic post so might write one to just set about a year down the line or something. Will be very silly but I will have to see if it breaks people's "friends" pages.

Anyway. My bed is over their looking like it needs me to go sleep in it very soon. More updates tomorrow.
