The weekend was spent with a lot of roleplaying.

Saturday was Cam games with Mage and garou being played and Sunday was (probably) the penultimate session of [livejournal.com profile] lathany's Athory campaign.

Saturday afternoon: Mage

The mage game was kind of cool. I turned up a bit late and people had already got started. I got a vague plot brief and didn't really understand what people were talking about but it involved doing something I was good at so I went along. I got very confused when we went off to some other place. Very disturbed by some things and then I died.

I'd told the STs before the game that I wanted to retire the character and so Andy pulled me aside at one point to usggest that it would be dramatically appropriate to die at this point. It seems that it was.

I had a lot of people trying to check if I was alright (I wasn't, I was dead), do CPR, try to work out if they could fix me with magic and then eventually just be a bit upset that I was dead.

And then the nutcases arrived on the scene... :) Somebody reanimated the body with a computer program before getting rapidly put down again. Then as I lay on the ground properly dead I was hearing people discussing taking the body off for experimentation somewhere... I never really got why either...

Somebody looted the body (though in all fairness it wasn't looting so much as removing ID and the like in case the police turned up and found the body or something) and moved it out of the way at the same point and I then wandered off to socialise.

Socialising was done which included dinner for a nice and cheap price before back to the venue.

Saturday Evening: Garou

The game started off a bit slow. A lot of chaos as players tried to organise themselves for a rite. It was a very cool rite when finally it was done but given that it was nearly 9 by the time it was done it meant a lot of game got eaten up by that.

I missed the end of the rite and the beginning of the main bit of the game (set in the post apocalyptic future) and thus the descriptions and intros but came back and slotted into the game. Spent most of the game wracked with guilt and alternating between thoughts of getting myself killed and just trying to calm down until we got home.

I talked to some people and cried like a girl got hugged, broke down a few more times and finally got home, wracked with a second lot of guilt. Plans have now been formed in character that are probably very bad... :)

One thing that is definitely worthy of mention is the props. There were a lot of good props, a lot of which were apparently provided by Beth (who may or may not have an LJ). The thing that I loved most was the hall of hallowed heroes and the boards listing the names of the dead on them. It was wonderful to actually have these sorts of things done properly. I think it was very effective and most people I've talked to I think agree.

I guess the only real shame is that I got nothing done at the game IC. It's had a lot of effect though.

Oh, and I got to NPC for a bit too. Playing the future version of myself who had a powerful fetish that the garou wanted. It was slightly annoying that I got pulled out of game to NPC it about half an hour before I was actually needed. I loitered around for a bit first before deciding that I'd go back in character and they could find me if they needed me.

I bargained with the garou for the fetish and got them to pay up about 33 points of gnosis to my weavery minions in return for it. I think both sides were happy.

After the game I went home via Rik's house so that I could make sure that Krys could navigate her way out of Birmingham, a city much cursed by her.

Sunday: Swordsmaster

Swordsmaster was great. As has been mentioned in other journals it was to a certain extent a tidy up session for some of us. Having overthrown the government we needed to help deal with the ruler when he came back. This was duly done with a lot of death and me being very scared (both in and OOC) about engaging the much more heavily armoured duke. Luckily, much to my pleasant surprise, I outclassed him and his guards meaning that I was a dice up on him and two dice on the guard that came to help him. The use of some fate points helped me finish him off at whcih point most of his army surrendered.

The other big noteable occurence of the session was relocating my brother after 9 years or so of separation. I'm not sure what Taronus expected but it wasn't what he got. He is acutley aware of the unfairness of the situation, he has been in prison and tortured for 9 years while Taronus has learnt to be a fairly powerful mage, become friends with the king of lathany (well, aquaintance), known throughout athory as a powerful healing mage and... Well, the list goes on. I can see why he isn't very comfortable around taronus and Taronus isn't really sure what to do about it. Hopefully once healing has been done on him and time has passed things will be a little better. I look forward to the next (and possibly final) session.

And that's that really. I might write something later about what's coming next. Amecon is next weekend which should be a lot of fun I hope. I'm being a bit nervous about the whole idea now but too late to worry about that. I'll just think of cute girls in anime style costumes and that should persuade me that all is good in the world. :)
