What am I going to do tonight?
I have three options really.
So which should I do? (1) has the advantage that it is relatively easy, I'd like to go to somewhere with loud rock/metal music (and the Electric Ballroom has that in its little upstairs room IIRC). For the last three weeks I've been saying I should go to a club with lots of rock/metal. However, it has disavantages. I am not sure I want to go to a club that hsa the bit I want as the minor thing. I think I'd much rather go to a club that focuses on the sort of thing I like. Also Caroline is planning on heading down to london before I am likely to be back from work even. She will eb staying in london with Simon (I am assuming). This means no company on the two hour trip there or the two hour trip back (when it is late and I have to fart arse about with night buses or expensive taxis). She will possibly leave an hour later if I ask her to but is it worth the faff really?
(2) has the advantage that it is a game of exalted and I really want to play it. It has the disadvatages that I haven't actually been invited by the GM, just somebody else who was going to go but isn't any more said that I should go along. I have no character (not very big a problem). It is a two hour drive each way (which will at least allow me to get a good character idea in mind). This also means that I might get there after the time they would have liked to have started the game. I can gen a character up while they keep playing but I will at some point have to drag the GM away from the other players to run over the character.
(3) Is just the default option really. It has no real disadvantages except that it is the same thing I do every day pretty much. Change is good.
So, what do I need? Well, I need Isi to look at this and say what she thinks of the idea of me crashing her Exalted game. If she says its ok or is even encouraging about it then I think I will head up to Peterborough. Maybe crash there, maybe not. It depends.
I don't think I will go to London. It might be nice but I'm going to know very few of the people and there is far too high a chance that I will sit in a corner and not really enjoy myself.
Otherwise I'll stay at home. Demolition man is on tele and I could watch that. Or the Mummy DVDs I have and keep meaning to watch.
So, there it is. If somebody could point Isi at this entry then that'd be cool. The more I write this the more I want to go to Peterborough actually. Isi: if you read this feel free to get hold of me via any of the messenger services I have (should be in userinfo section) or on my work e-mail address (chris@domino.com). I can jump on IRC if needs be but won't be there unless asked to be. :)

(no subject)
Date: 2002-03-01 06:17 am (UTC)Option 2 - Exalted. I managed to grab Isi on IRC earlier and after trying to work out the best way to ask if she'd mind me turning up with as little pressure on her to say yes as possible she said she was happy for me to come along. This is a distinctly good thing. It means I get to play Exalted!!! :)
I'm really happy and bouncy about this and I now declare Isi (
The ideas currently in my mind are basically a mage. A sorceror that is. Somebody who rather than having lots of normal charms will be able to do lots of spells. They are generally involving creating something from nothing as opposed to charms that merely enhance what is already there.
The other thought I had was a tomb-raider Indiana Jones style character. It would give me a good excuse for having magic kit which I personally think is always fun. Couple of poitns in artifact and couple of points in Manse. If I am playing a sorceror then I really will need the added Essence recharge given by hearthstones. Spells usually start at about 15 motes of essence and get more expensive...
Anyway, I should work.... :)
